I read, I like, I share (9) : Dorothy Canfield Fisher

“A mother is not a person to lean on

but a person to make leaning unnecessary.”

—  Dorothy Canfield Fisher

Thought of the day :

This Sunday, you are going to treat your Mum.  You have booked a table for lunch.  You’ll buy her a bunch of carnations, and a strawberry cream cake.  Her grandchild has drawn her a card with a big, red heart.

And then?

Would you sit down with her, hold her wrinkled hand and ask, “what did you do before you were a Mama”?
